Burks self-priming centrifugal pumps are built for installations where the pump sits above the liquid source. Once the casing is filled, the pump clears air from the suction line and re-primes on its own, so it does not need a foot valve to hold prime. Most series run at 3500 RPM on 60 Hz power.
When to Choose Self-Priming
Use a self-priming pump when the supply is below the pump, such as drawing from a tank, sump, or underground storage. If the pump can be flooded by the source, an end suction or inline pump is usually the better fit.
